Captain g.

Cap'n g, as he's known, began his career as a trainer in the United States Coast Guard where he first taught seamanship and small boat handling at the USCG Training Center in Cape May, NJ. Later in his Coast Guard career he taught law, and street survival and defensive tactics at the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, where he attained Master Instructor Certification. Following his retirement he began teaching sailing classes as an American Sailing Association instructor, and in his first year with the ASA he was named Outstanding Instructor of the Year out of a field of 3300 instructors. Concurrent to teaching for the ASA, he developed and presented training programs for numerous police departments and military units in the fields of firearms, defensive tactics, street survival, and special operations. He was also contracted to the U.S. State Department's Diplomatic Security Service to develop and present training in the areas of executive protection, counter-terrorism, surveillance, and quick response. He has presented training courses live, through interpreters, and online.
